I hate banners. They're on practically every web page I can think of;
wouldn't it be nice if the LDP were a bannerless oasis in the desert of
the World Wide Web?
There are other ways to promote other OSS projects (a list of links, for
example). Banners waste bandwidth and annoy the hell out of people with
slow modems. Let's chuck 'em!
